Hawzah News Agency- The flag-raising ceremony signaled the beginning of a series of religious and cultural programs held on the eve of the auspicious birth anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (PBUH), the Commander of the Faithful, who holds the unique distinction in Islamic history of being born inside the Holy Kaaba.
Senior shrine officials, religious scholars, and social figures took part in the event, including Sayyid Isa al-Khorasani, the Supreme Custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (PBUH), his deputy, members of the Board of Trustees, heads of shrine departments, and a number of prominent academic, religious, and social personalities.
Renewing Allegiance to the Path of Imam Ali (PBUH)
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered by Haider al-Issawi, a member of the shrine’s Board of Trustees. In his address, al-Issawi emphasized the significance of renewing allegiance to the values embodied by Imam Ali (PBUH), including justice, devotion, courage, and unwavering commitment to divine guidance.
The event also featured the performance of religious hymns and chants expressing love and reverence for Imam Ali (PBUH), creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere among attendees.
Week of Religious and Cultural Programs
According to shrine officials, “Walid al-Kaaba Week” will include a wide range of religious, cultural, and educational activities, as well as public celebrations commemorating the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (PBUH). The programs aim to highlight the Imam’s pivotal role in Islamic history and his enduring legacy as a symbol of faith, justice, and leadership.
In addition to spiritual and cultural events, several service and development projects are scheduled to be inaugurated across Najaf Province as part of the commemorative week, reflecting Imam Ali’s emphasis on social responsibility and service to the community.
Organizers say the week-long programs are intended to strengthen religious awareness, promote Islamic values, and reinforce the bond between the holy shrine and the wider public, while honoring the legacy of one of the most revered figures in Islam.
